Color is Coming
All of a sudden the color is coming. We have been watching a few leaves, here and there, starting to change and so far it is just spotty- but as we drive down these roads, we find little surprises! Sometimes an entire tree will be red but mostly just a few branches- but look at these trees. I just had to capture them on the way to church today. I am so looking forward to see the magic that happens with the color here. I think Fall is my favorite!
We are wondering how another week has passed. It seems like Sunday rolls around faster and faster. We are knocking on October and I think October is probably one of my most favorite months. I love the Anne of Green Gables quote, " I'm so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers". I feel that exact way. Mike is really in for it with my camera. Bless his heart, he just drives and pulls over and drives and pulls over-and I take way too many photos! He's the best and I am really so blessed!
Our week was more quiet than usual. We had our normal missionary meetings of District Council, Mission wide training on zoom, a Zone devotional, and our Mission Miracle Call. I think that I say, every post, how much we love being with the missionaries. They are the light of our mission.
We also had the chance to meet with some of our members, some of our friends, and some of the other senior missionaries. We love our friend, Tracie. We pray for her all the time. She seems to be progressing but she also wants to be certain before she commits. We love how she takes notes as she reads the Book of Mormon. She is always at church and the Book of Mormon class. She stays to help clean up and visits with people. She's great!
We had the chance to have dinner with the missionary couples from the office. They go out every Friday night and they invite us to come along. (We really had just asked our housing coordinator if he had an extra Bundt pan hanging around that we could get from him at Zone Conference - which he did but he said "come to dinner and I will give it to you then"-so we did) We feel so loved by these missionaries. They do amazing work to keep our mission moving forward. We also look forward to going to Syracuse because it gives us a chance to hit Costco and grab stuff that we probably don't really need.
We had 11 people at our Book of Mormon class. That's the most we have ever had. We were pretty excited. We love the Book of Mormon and it is so much fun discussing it with people who are excited about it too. We always try to have a video to watch-something that teaches the principles in a little different way. There are so many great videos available. We feel so blessed by the technology that the church has and the music that others write that is so uplifting. There are some really talented people out there.
Our walks in the mornings are getting cooler and cooler. We have donned our jackets and we even turned the heater on for a couple of days. We are back into the high 70's for a couple of days but in the next 10 days we will be looking at the mid 60's for our highs. We are also getting lots of rain. It's so weird, we have rain almost every Monday. (What can you do for P-Day when it rains every week? Actually, we find things to do.) This week, while we were walking, we found some really interesting floral something-strange flowers? I don't know what they are and there were mounds and mounds of mushrooms too. We also have been collecting acorns. We find some that the squirrels haven't gotten to yet. Some are big and some are tiny. The squirrels really do a number on them-storing up for the winter
Life is good for us! We love the Lord! We love the people in our Branch and we LOVE the missionaries who do such a wonderful job at being a light. This world is dark and they carry the Light of Christ into the darkness. We feel so blessed to be missionaries for our Savior. We are honored to carry His name. We pray that we can do what He needs us to do. Here's to another exciting week and I will fill you in next weekend. Have a most beautiful week.
