And November is in Full Swing

We said goodbye to October with a wonderfully fun Halloween celebration in our mission. Our Mission Leaders had asked the Elders and Sisters to be in their apartments by 7:00 p.m.  They do this for the safety of the missionaries. But, they also know that these are days when homesickness can set in a bit.  So, to make the evening special, we had a mission wide Zoom call/cookie cooking class with President and Sister Gentry-aka Superman and Lois Lane.  They are so amazing and have so much fun with these missionaries.  They are definitely loved and respected.

The missionaries had been given a list of ingredients to have ready and off we went, mixing, laughing, and baking Sister Gentry's famous cookie recipe.  We had to laugh because one companionship of Sisters asked what they could use instead of flour because theirs had bugs in it.  A couple used baking powder inspite of being told a couple of times to not make that mistake.  One companionship had margarine instead of butter and their cookies weren't turning out so good. It was great.  One of our Elders is a magician and he did some tricks and likened it to the Gospel.  While the cookies were baking the missionaries shared stories of how taking cookies to people brought about miracles.  We loved this little activity and the impact it had on our hearts.  We will have it forever in our memories.

We met as a District and President came to do interviews.  It is always so much fun to meet and learn with the missionaries.  They are incredible and teach with power.  I really do think that they are the best part of the life of Senior Missionaries!

We had a great Book of Mormon class again.  I say that every week but how can you have a bad class when the subject is the Book of Mormon.  We taught this week Alma 1 and 2 and how we need to have the courage to stand up under persecution.  We feel so blessed to have living prophets on the earth who give us direction and strength to do good things and stand in holy places!

We've had such beautiful weather.  Our temps have been in the 70's.  Our walks in the morning have been such a breath of fresh air-literally!  The leaves that were holding on have gone and it makes me a little sad.

We went to the temple on Saturday.  It takes us almost 2 hours to get there but it is always worth the trip.  We headed right back home afterwards and ran to the church to finish the bulletin boards that we have been revamping in the Relief Society room.  I will include a before and after picture of one of the boards.  I didn't grab a picture of the other board.
This is the bulletin board that has been hanging for over 10 years-,maybe even 15.  I heard our Relief Society President say that it needed to be overhauled so I asked if it would be okay if we did it.  I had some ideas in my head so we went with it.  This is what we did:

I have worried that it is too much, there is a lot of information there, but that's okay.  Hopefully it will help the sisters feel a little more informed. The other board is centered around our Savior and the temple.  I will include a picture next week, I guess.  I can't believe that I didn't take a photo.

Sunday was another day of not many people at church.  We had 14 which is really sad.  There is a heaviness in this little branch. We feel it!  We try not to let it get into our hearts.  We pray for them every day and lift where we can.  We still haven't heard when we will merge with the Rome Ward but we are praying every day that it can happen soon.  These people need it! Mike had the chance to teach Gospel Doctrine and did an awesome job.  But with Shadrach, Meshach, Abed-nego, and Daniel, how could you go wrong?

We are doing great.  We are healthy!  We are happy!  We love our Heavenly Father and our Savior. We try to do good here.  We hope they can feel our love.  We love all of you!  You are in our prayers.  Have a most wonderful week.
