Palmyra times 3

Another wonderful week is in the books.  We had a busy week and ended the week at the temple again.  What a great to end a great week.  (That's three times in three weeks and we aren't done) Now that it's getting warm again, we are trying to use our P- Days to see this beautiful state.  We actually ran to a little town called Oneonta and crashed the missionary's District P Day activity.  It was fun to be with missionaries that we don't know as well as ours.  They played games at the park-but their favorite game was Hot Lava on the big playground.  They climbed around like monkeys in trees.  They had a great time. We ended with ice cream, of course!

We drove to Cooperstown to find a cool medieval looking bridge that our cute friend had told us about.  It is on a little river, tucked away from everything!  You probably would never know it was there unless someone told you.  I just had to have a picture.  And the daffodils?  Oh my goodness,  Look how pretty they are!

We had our District Council on Tuesday instead of Wednesday because President Gentry was doing interviews.  Sister Park and I try to provide lunch for everyone once a transfer and this time we did a baked potato bar and salad.  The missionaries love food. And especially really good food.  It was a hit.  After District Council we had the chance to watch our brother, Wayne's funeral.  One really good thing that came from Covid is the technology that allows us to be part of important events while we are far from home.  We feel so blessed to have had the chance to watch the celebration of his life.

Our missionaries inspire us and amaze us.  Before our Book of Mormon class, they had a lesson with the son of our recent converts.  He is high functioning autistic and likes small, confined spaces.  He wanted to be on the floor, under a chair.  What did they do?  They got right on the floor with him. The look on his face says it all.  I love how they do what Jesus would do.  He always meets us where we are.
We taught Alma 47-48 this week-all about Amalickiah and Lehonti.  Brother Morgan opened with prayer and thanked the Lord that we could be there together and learn more about Jesus.  After his prayer, I commenced to tell them that our lesson was full of intrigue, deception, and murder.  They chuckled but that's what we learned.  More importantly, we learned how Satan deceives and lies to try to get us to follow him.  He knows our weak spots and plays on them.  Then we learned how Captain Moroni was fortifying the weak spots in the towns to make them strong.  We talked about things we can do to fortify our weaknesses and build on our strengths. It was an awesome lesson.

Saturday was our ward temple day. Our ward goes once a quarter and it's a big youth trip as well.  Lots of people with names to do ordinances for.  It was a rainy day but it was awesome.  The blossoms are out in full, and they are beautiful
After the temple, we headed for our Stake Camp on the shores on Seneca Lake, one of the Finger Lakes.  I have been so excited. Last November, at a baptism, the new Stake Camp Director asked if we were allowed to be at YW Camp.  I told her I would have to ask President Gentry.  He said, absolutely!  That is what Member Leader Support missionaries do.  So we told her yes.  Then we didn't hear anything until last week.  We are moving forward.  I will be one of those helping with whatever they need-right now,  I am in charge of a Faith Walk.  Mike will be the treat guy, driving a golf cart with all kinds of snacks for the girls.  Seneca Lake Camp is a beautiful 110 acre camp with all kinds of adventure.  There is archery, a ropes course, zip line, water activities, volleyball, basketball, and cabins-really nice cabins. I have to say, camp, without tents, sounds glorious.  We are super excited!  At least I am.  You know me and Young Women!
We stopped off in Geneva to find the "I Heart NY" sign for future use for pictures, and had to try some Gilligan's ice cream. We've had Gilligan's before-this was a little disappointing but sure looks good in the picture.

Our weeks just keep marching on. The calendar seems to flip faster and faster.  We love being missionaries.  We love the beautiful countryside of New York.  We love our Savior and are so honored to wear His name on our hearts.  We hope you have a beautiful week.  We love you!  Thank you for your love and support!
